GTA 6 FAQ: quick answers
The questions everyone asks, answered straight — updated whenever the facts change.
When does GTA 6 come out?
GTA 6 releases on Thursday, November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Preloading starts November 12. Take-Two has reaffirmed the date on every earnings call, most recently in August 2026.
What platforms is GTA 6 on? Is it coming to PC?
At launch: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. A PC version has not been announced. GTA V reached PC about 19 months after consoles and Red Dead Redemption 2 about a year after — treat any GTA 6 PC date you see as speculation.
How much will GTA 6 cost?
The Standard Edition is $79.99 (£69.99 / €79.99) and the Ultimate Edition is $99.99 (£89.99 / €99.99). Ultimate adds extra clothing, vehicles, weapons, locations, and side missions.
Can I pre-order GTA 6?
Yes. Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026 on PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar's site, and retailers. Pre-ordering either edition (or buying before November 20, 2026) includes the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+.
Is there a GTA 6 disc version?
No. Rockstar confirmed that physical copies contain a download code, not a disc. Boxed copies go on sale November 12, 2026 so you can preload before launch.
Will GTA 6 run at 60fps?
Not at launch, as far as we know. Rockstar's Rob Nelson said in August 2026 that the game is targeting 30fps on all consoles, including PS5 Pro. He didn't rule out a 60fps option later.
Who are the GTA 6 protagonists?
Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos — a Bonnie-and-Clyde style duo. Lucia is the first female lead in a mainline GTA since the 2D era. You'll play both. The supporting cast includes Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Raul Bautista, and Brian Heder (voiced by Stephen Root).
Where is GTA 6 set?
The state of Leonida — Rockstar's version of Florida — centered on modern-day Vice City. Six regions are confirmed: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
Rockstar hasn't given official numbers, but community reconstructions from trailer footage suggest roughly twice the playable area of GTA V, with the densest city Rockstar has ever built.
How many GTA 6 trailers are out? Is there a Trailer 3?
Two trailers plus a long showcase: Trailer 1 (December 4, 2023), Trailer 2 (May 6, 2025, 475M+ views in 24 hours), and An Extended Look (August 27, 2026), a 27-minute in-game presentation that premiered on Netflix. Rockstar hasn't released anything called Trailer 3. A launch trailer close to release day is likely.
Will there be a new GTA Online?
Rockstar hasn't detailed GTA 6's online mode. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said in September 2026 that GTA 6 launches as a single-player experience, so there's no new GTA Online on day one. A pre-order includes a month of GTA+ for the existing GTA Online.
Was GTA 6 delayed?
Twice. Originally targeted for Fall 2025, it moved to May 26, 2026, then on November 6, 2025 Take-Two moved it to November 19, 2026. The current date is backed by $8.0–8.2B in revenue guidance, reaffirmed in August 2026 — another delay is very unlikely.
Can I play GTA with you before GTA 6 comes out?
Yes — we run Syndicate RP, a GTA V FiveM roleplay server focused on car culture and drag racing. Check the GTA V page for how to join.
